Why This Blog?:
What more can I say? I love technology!! I love everything from new web technologies, new gadgets for the home to web security (plus I have some random thoughts here and there). I want to share all this with you. I call this the ‘Nick’ Generation.
What do I do Monday to Friday?:
I am the currently the Global Product Marketing Manager for HP Application Security Center.
Background:
I was born and spent most of my life thus far in Sydney, Australia.
I have a science degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia where my focus was on web development and database design. I wrote my final year thesis on “Is Shopping on the Internet Secure?” at the turn of last century during the e-commerce revolution. I suppose this is where my love for Web Security began.
Once completed university I work as a Web Developer for a few different companies including for myself. The next chapter of my career saw me consulting in ITIL and IT Service Management across Australia and Southeast Asia clocking up over 100 flights each year!
In 2005 I began working for Mercury Interactive as a Technical Consultant until they were acquired by HP in 2006. I then changed roles within the company and spent the next 18 months as the APJ Solution Marketing Manager for HP Software’s Applications portfolio. During these 18 months I clocked up well over 500,000 air miles visiting some of the greatest countries and cities across Asia Pacific & Japan speaking at conferences and interacting with local businesses.
June 2008 saw me take up my current position at HP as the Global Product Marketing Manager for HP Application Security Center and the relocation to Silicon Valley, California, the epicenter for technology and my passion.
